Los medios de comunicación en Paraguay se enfrentan a una triple crisis: la crisis política de un país en un largo proceso de transición desde una dictadura cívico-militar de seis décadas, la crisis económica vinculada al cambio tecnológico y la globalización, y la crisis de legitimidad. El derrocamiento parlamentario del presidente Fernando Lugo ha puesto de manifiesto los problemas y carencias de una prensa y un país con algunos déficits democráticos.
